2022. Jul. 1. | Community

To the delight of many, the Westprememural project, which was a great success last year, continued, where the symbol of Veszprém, King Szent István and Queen Gizella, the first Hungarian royal couple, was immortalized.

The creators are Gergely Ozsváth (Mentha) and his cousin Tamás Ozsváth, who are previous they also worked on murals and recently played together in Győr, but if we go back a long way, they already painted together when they were children. Among many other reasons, they loved this project.

In the center of the painting are the iconic statues of the royal couple, and behind them are the defining parts of Veszprém such as the castle, the Viaduct, the húszas and the Haszkóvó housing estates. – the latter gave place to both of their mural paintings.

The rest of the picture is for everyone to decide for themselves, some people associate it with heaven or even see Atlantis in it - it's easy anyway, we are actually walking in the Tethys-Ocean 230 million years ago in Veszprém, Mentha tells us.

Just like the first mural, this one is also made with mixed media, painted with a small paint-blowing machine. This was not used before, so this time the guys innovated it a bit.

The painting blooms on the wall of the residential building at Munkácsy Mihály utca 3 in the Haszkovó housing estate, not far from the first mural.

The city of Veszprém can already boast two huge mural paintings, so if they continue at this pace, it will become an increasingly popular place for visitors in terms of street art.

The Westprememural project 2. was realized with the cooperation of the Lélektér Foundation and the support of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture.

What you can see from him at the moment is a decorative painting for a Mexican restaurant called Sombreros Taqueria. His clients wanted to evoke the visual aspects of this rich culture in addition to their food.
