We can witness another successful environmental protection street art project. With the third work created within the framework of the City Metamorphosis program, which depicts a giant hedgehog, attention is drawn to the situation and challenges of eastern hedgehogs living in the city.
The eastern hedgehog can be found all over the country, and it shows its successful adaptability that it can already be observed in populated areas and in built-up urban environments. At the same time, it faces many challenges here, one of the most significant of which is that there are not enough hiding and wintering places for it.
This problem is solved by the Mondolo Association and SZETÁV Kft. approached it in different forms. On the one hand, during the project, in order to reach a wider audience, II. heating plant, the facade on Herke street was transformed, on the other hand, in cooperation with the students of the Tisza-parti Primary School, standard hedgehogs, so-called they made swings, which were placed in the school yard.
The transformation of an industrial building that destroys the cityscape into a work suitable for environmental education a Muralpaint.hu thanks to the team of wall decorators. About 120 liters of facade paint and 25 paint spray cans were used for the finished work. The wall painting team got involved in the transformation process of the originally brick wall after the plastering, where they first dealt with the deep priming of the surface, and then the painting was created using a combination of the usual outdoor facade painting and acrylic paint spray. The work was completed in a week, the painting taking place at the end of November was slowed down by the weather and the early darkness.
Next to the mural painting completed on a surface of 220 square meters, an informative board with a QR code will be displayed, by scanning it we can not only find out interesting information about the hedgehogs, but also when, how we can help them and what we can feed them.
With the interventions, they not only created a quality urban environment closer to people, but also provided more favorable conditions for the animal world that surrounds us.
