Time graffiti művész: „Felülmúlni önmagad”

2021. Aug. 2. | Interviews

Time graffiti artist his motivation to surpass himself with each subsequent step. He actively uses the old school style, which he mixes with newer solutions.

How long have you been painting?

I got to know graffiti in 1994/95 and painted the first one in the summer of 1995.

Where did the stage name come from?

I have been writing this name since 1997, with minor and major mutations. I actually started drawing 3D letters and sorted them out. Which has caused a lot of trouble since then, as it is not easy to depict / wrap them well. I've been planning another name instead of Time for a long time, with better letters, but I haven't come up with it yet. Soon.

How did this style develop and what would you call it?

Mint akkoriban sokaknak a Style Wars című dokumentum film volt az oktató video. Szóval aktívan használom az old school stílust, amit keverek az újabb megoldásokkal. Hogyan nevezném? WOW, hát így. 😀

Time

Is there a graffiti group you are a member of?

DCK! 😀

Illegal or legal painting?

I prefer to move on the legal line. In the past, I visited 1-2 places uninvited...

Over the years, have you had any confrontations with the authorities?

Voltak kellemetlen pillanatok… 😀

What motivates you to create?

My motivation is to surpass myself with each next step.

Do you see graffiti as a hobby or a livelihood?

Both. This is my main job.

Time

Was there a part of your career that made you feel like you were quitting for good?

There were/are waves, but I never felt the need to stop.

What do you think about graffiti?

In my world, it's a therapy, self-expression, goal, motivation, refuge.

Most memorable blowout?

What would you say to those who are just getting to know the genre?

Gyakoroljatok, tanuljatok, ne elégedjetek meg a minimállal! A trash az trash..  akárhogy szépítjük. 😀

Who would you like to thank for making you stick with your art?

I would like to thank those writers who did not give up, who are still coming up with exemplary works and can inspire.

Urban Art Association Te8

Urban art took on new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic: while traditional cultural systems ground to a halt, street art continued to be present in urban spaces. It was in this context that the Urban Art Association Te8 was founded, not merely out of inspiration, but as a conscious response. The founders recognized that an isolated artistic presence was insufficient to achieve a genuine impact, so they created a structured yet free and original form of operation.

Interjú Wanda Hutira street art művésszel

Interview with street artist Wanda Hutira

Wanda Hutira is one of those artists for whom the city is not merely a backdrop, but an active partner in dialogue. Using murals, illustrations, and experimental visual techniques, she creates images that respond both to their surroundings and to the stories of the people who live in them. Her works are often based on small observations of everyday life and social and psychological issues, while her unique technical experimentation—from "impressionistic" distortions created with a paint roller to typographical references—creates a unique visual language. With more than a hundred murals behind her, Wanda Hutira now not only paints pictures on walls, but also initiates quiet conversations between the city and its people.

Interjú Refleks graffiti művésszel

Interview with graffiti artist Refleks

Refleks first picked up a spray can in 2009, and since then he has been consistently developing the style that many people now recognize immediately. In this interview, he talks about the thought process behind his name, his obsession with thin, precise lines, his open ambition for fame, and his view of the current state of the domestic and international graffiti subculture. Travels, iconic locations, strong opinions, and clear messages—Refleks doesn't explain, he reflects.
