Aldi decoration in a playful form

2021. Feb. 14. | Community

It made it more colorful with another great initiative Aldi the parking lot of their Solymári grocery store. This time the Colorfools his decorative painting team smuggled a little joy to the customers who visited there with their finished work.

ALDI's first project of this type was realized in 2018 in Budapest, a At ALDI in Tűzoltó Street, where the surface of the downtown firewall bordering the store's parking lot provided the opportunity for this youthful and popular appearance in public space. Since then, the company has been looking for opportunities to add color to the environment of its stores and the parking lots connected to the stores. Its goal is to create as many similar solutions as possible in the future.

In connection with the 2018 project, ALDI approached several artists, assessing who would undertake the task under what conditions. In the invitational tender, the basic constraint was that the painting fit the milieu of the given location and the image of ALDI. The winning contractor felt the best about ALDI's style.

In the case of the tender, ALDI's request was that the graffiti to be created should match the image of ALDI and add color to the store's parking lot. Of course, this is a complex constraint, because many aspects have to be taken into account in relation to the painting. On the one hand, it is necessary to comply with the image of the company, to assess the particularities of the given location, as well as the locally arising needs, after all, potential owners and municipalities can also make suggestions regarding the final appearance.

Since ALDI places great emphasis on freshness, fresh fruits, vegetables and baked goods offered by the store were placed on the graphic in a playful way.

Customer feedback regarding the painting was very positive, the customers were satisfied, customers also gave tips on which other stores they would like to see similar graffiti, informed the Aldi Hungary..

Colors Underground – The Iváncsa Underpass Gets a New Lease on Life

For a long time, the underpass at the Iváncsa train station was just another one of those familiar, functional, yet impersonal spaces. A place people pass through but don’t linger in. Today, however, it offers a completely different experience: colors, shapes, and stories accompany travelers along the way. The decoration is not only a visual renewal but also an imprint of a community-oriented vision—the identities of three towns converge here with László Varga’s unique perspective.

Adam Illes – Reflections

His work titled *Reflections*, installed on the wall of Stratford Junction, explores a theme that is both personal and universal: connection. Not an encounter in the superficial sense, but that rare and elusive moment when two people truly see one another.

When Paint Turns to Glass – Glass Angel

Street art is often about quick gestures and raw energy, but there are works that speak more of patience, precision, and a carefully constructed visual experience. CSM’s work titled “Glass Angel” is the final piece in a four-part mural series that not only posed a serious technical challenge but also holds personal significance for the artist. The transparency of the glass symbolizes fragility, the angel represents beauty and love, while the dark and light tones in the background symbolize the duality of the world.
