Művész Magazin was launched in November 2022, thanks to Attila Rácz-Akácosi and his wife Laura Rácz-Akácosi. The aim was to create a platform where amateur and professional artists and creators could present themselves and their works.
Since its launch, the magazine has been growing steadily, with more than 1,000 artists featured and submissions coming in daily. The range of artists is very diverse, and we try to offer opportunities to artists from all artistic fields. The site features artists and painters, as well as photographers, writers, poets, digital artists and musicians, showcasing the diversity of contemporary art.
In addition to the artist profiles, we also include articles on art and programme recommendations to motivate and inform. In the coming period, we plan to interview artists, creators and art therapy professionals, one of which has already taken place: an interview with András Sárközy (cinematographer and photographer) - you can read it here:
The magazine is also keen to give attention to creators who find it difficult to manage themselves, and to help with marketing issues. Material on the latter can be found under a separate "Marketing" tab, which is also being expanded.
We would like the magazine to reach as wide a readership and artistic audience as possible, so we welcome applications and introductions from new artists, which can be made by registering on the site or by sending an email to our email address.
I am Attila Rácz-Akácosi, co-founder of the contemporary art magazine Muvesz.ma. I have been involved in online marketing and exciting web projects for over 15 years. Music and poetry have been a passionate hobby throughout my life, and Muvesz.ma magazine was born out of this passion. The contemporary art scene in Hungary is underrepresented, and this must change! I believe that there is an artist in everyone, and that this should be shown to the world, regardless of education, degrees or talent.
I also believe that personal-branding is fundamental in the art world, which is why I continue to publish articles on this topic, and with theology and art therapy studies behind me, the art therapy content will also be strengthened on Muvesz.ma magazine. I am very grateful that the domestic artistic and creative community is so supportive of each other and of Muvasz.ma.
I am Laura E. Rácz-Akácosi, editor-in-chief of the contemporary art magazine Muvesz.ma. As a little girl with a huge imagination, I have always loved the worlds I have imagined. I wrote about them, I drew them, and the only thing that mattered was that I could create them and bring joy not only to myself but to others. Initially I was a draughtsman, so first I became a graphic designer, then I graduated from the ELTE College of Teacher Education and Nursery Education, where I can teach both drawing and singing and music.
I started writing poems and stories a few years ago, and this resulted in my first children's storybook, "Laura's Tales: the Squirrel Tales of Iku, Kesu and Tiny". As I have always been interested in children's souls, I have been able to help them professionally by studying story therapy so that I can nurture children's souls through my stories.
In art, I found not only the freedom to create, but also myself. Every written word is a piece of my inner world. And as I create, my artwork interacts with me - teaching and inspiring me. Art is a fundamental part of the human essence and our understanding of the world, and I feel that through the magazine I can support the creation of a richer and more empathetic world.
I am Virág Koterle-Magasházi, content manager of the contemporary art magazine Muvesz.ma. I was exposed to the arts from a very early age, I started learning music when I was in kindergarten. My parents always boasted that I learned music before I learned to read letters. I first sat down to the piano at the age of about 9, and it accompanied me all the way to my school-leaving exams: I graduated from a music college in Székesfehérvár. After that I parted ways with the piano, but music always stayed with me.
Besides music, reading and writing became my other artistic hobbies, and it was no coincidence that I chose Hungarian as my university major. My short stories have been published in print anthologies and online, and I have also written articles and continue to do so when time permits. I joined Művész Magazin in April this year, and my aim is to bring the beauty and diversity of art to as wide a range of people as possible.
