Nagyházi Contemporary

The new space of the Nagyházi Gallery and Auction House, a Nagyházi Contemporary, which presents the works of street art artists to the public at its first public event.

The first exhibition of Nagyházi Contemporary is "When life gives you lemons" - it is about the vicissitudes of the past year, global and local problems, the relationship between the pandemic and everyday life. The contributing artists, Zsuzsi Bakos (iamsuzie), Fork Imre (Fork), Riez József (HOEK), Viszokai Krisztián (Mr. Zero).

"First of all, we represent young progressive visual artists. The circle of artists is constantly developing, we want to work with artists whose talent we believe in and with whom we can cooperate in the long term. The gallery specifically has an innovative attitude in mind, so we don't want to confine our artists to conceptual boundaries. We also want to open up to the related arts, we want to give space to as many art sectors as possible. We want to support issues that we feel are important and relevant in the domestic context. In addition to guided tours, talks, and international art fairs, we also want to start our own artist colony next summer.

Zsófia Danka, the manager of the gallery, said.

Hoek
Hoek Apartment theater for his picture entitled, instead of spray paint, he chose a more classic painting tool. In his work, he focuses on domestic events with an outlook on international events, which is broken by the life-giving pulsating purity of nature.
Nagyházi Contemporary
Mr. Zero
Mr. Zero created the grotesque character of the present, affected by the coronavirus, in which the whole world is quarantined. The composition completes his work with classic graffiti elements and inscriptions Together alone gave an address.

We want to bring our collectors closer to contemporary art and create an exciting and innovative environment, thus revitalizing the artistic perspective of Falk Miksa Street.

Communities Through Art – Cross-border cooperation

University students from Szeged and Timișoara had the opportunity to learn about Szeged's street art as part of the Communities Through Art project. The students worked together with art historian Mihai Moldovan and filmmakers Alin Boeru and Mikulán Dávid, who documented the layers of street art in Szeged with photos and on-site video reports. The completed images were presented in an exhibition during a three-day multidisciplinary arts festival as part of the Grand Café 'Le Grand Opening' series of events, and Adél Kiss's mural was unveiled on the staircase of the café. The program included a dozen music, film, and street art events for those interested.
